Entertainer Anthony B and Rohan Marley, son of Reggae legend Bob Marley are among the entertainers celebrating Juneteenth, a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

Reggae singer Anthony B via his official Instagram account, shared a documentary about Juneteenth, with the hashtags, saluting all freedom fighters, ancestors, liberators, one family, African and never forget. In the caption, he wrote, “Know the past to create a better future”.

Meanwhile, Rohan Marley shared a video of himself giving a speech at an event, where he expressed that Juneteenth to him represents a time to remember our freedom, the freedom of self, the freedom of the mind, and the right to emancipate ourselves.

Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021 in the United States, but many Black Americans have honoured the date for years with parades, parties, and family gatherings.

Today, several events are being held across the US to commemorate Juneteenth, including CNN’s second annual concert in Los Angeles dubbed Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom featuring the likes of Charlie Wilson, Miguel, Kirk Franklin, Nelly, Davido, and a tribute to late music legend Tina Turner by Chlöe Bailey.
