August Town records another murder

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of one person and the wounding of two others in August Town, St. Andrew, this afternoon (Feb 8).

Head of St. Andrew Central police Senior Superintendent Jacqueline Green says the incident took place about 3:30 p.m. along Bryce Hill.

The name of the dead person has not yet been released.

Police say the reason for the shooting is unclear.

Meantime, some routes run by buses from the Jamaica Urban Transit Company have been affected by the shooting in August Town.

The JUTC tweeted that as a result of a shooting incident in the vicinity of Bryce Hill buses will terminate at Papine.

Routes affected are 72, 77 and 78.

The JUTC says once given the clear by the police the buses will resume operations.
