by July 22nd, 2017

Former FIFA Vice President Austin Jack Warner has lauded cricket west Indies’ player amnesty and has heaped praises on cricket West Indies president Dave Cameron after the latter’s decision to relax the eligibility rules for Senior windies cricketers.

Recently CWI decided to give amnesty to those players who miss regional competition, paving the way for them to have every opportunity to represent the region at the highest level.

This development has found favour with Warner who said West Indies Cricket is on the march again and for this, Cricket West Indies should be applauded for their most progressive stance in abandoning their former out-dated policies, which denied our best players the opportunity to represent us.

The former special advisor to the T&T football association who once played an instrumental role in welcoming back Dwight Yorke and Russell Latapy to the T&T senior men’s football team before the historic qualification to the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Warner also spoke of the importance of having batsman Darren Bravo back in the side following a dispute with Cameron.
