An autopsy is to be conducted today (May 25) on the body of 62-year-old Chieftin Campbell, who died after being mobbed in Mandeville, on May 6.

Campbell’s family retained Attorney Oswest Senior Smith to monitor the case.

Mr. Senior Smith told IRIE FM news that the family has enlisted the help of an independent pathologist who will be present at the autopsy.

Two weeks ago, the Manchester police indicated that two people were being sought in relation to Chieftin’s death.

They were reportedly captured on the JamaicaEye surveillance network participating in the mob killing.

The police theorize that the incident was a case of mistaken identity.

Campbell’s death sparked a protest in his community of Victoria Town in Southern Manchester earlier this month.
