The St. James woman accused of stealing a baby in the parking lot of the Cornwall Regional Hospital, was offered bail when she appeared in court today (Jan 22).

26 -year-old bartender, Melissa Harriott, of Norwood, is charged with child stealing.

Harriot was brought before the St. James parish court, accompanied by attorney at law Martyn Thomas.

She was granted $350,000s bail.

Harriot is to return to court on February 25.

She was arrested on January 6 when she was allegedly found with the stolen child.

The baby girl was reportedly stolen, on January 4, when her mother left her in Harriott’s care and went to use the restroom.
