Back on track!

by April 15th, 2021

Track and field action is set to resume after an absence over the last three weekends due to the government weekend lockdown to curb the rising cases of the Coronavirus.

Action will begin with the Velocity Fest 9 at the National Stadium on Saturday April 17, 2021 which is set to take place between 9am and 1.30 pm due to the new curfew hours.

This will be followed the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) qualification series next week including the Eastern, Central and Western Championships at several venues.

The JAAA is now now awaiting government approval as now explained by JAAA first Vice President Ian Forbes.

Meanwhile the JAAA is advising coaches that they only register athletes who need a qualifying performance as they will be limiting the number of athletes significantly.

As expected no spectators will be permitted at the events.
