The bail application for 20-year-old university student, Matthew Hyde is to continue on April 14, in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

The application was set for today (March 31) but was adjourned for the court to get the latest medical report on the complainant.

Hyde is accused of torturing his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend in his dorm room at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus in February.

He is charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, false imprisonment and malicious communication.

Last week a psychiatric report for Hyde was submitted to the court.

King’s Counsel Peter Champagnie is representing Hyde.
