Bail extended for cop whose 18-month-old daughter died after he left her in car

A St. Elizabeth policeman whose 18-month-old daughter died after he reportedly left her unattended in his car last year, had his bail extended when he appeared in court on Thursday morning.

Detective Sergeant Sheldon Dobson, who is charged with manslaughter appeared before Judge Vaughn Smith in the Black River circuit.

Dobson is set to reappear in court on December 14, to settle representation.

On January 27, 2022, Detective Sergeant Dobson was to take his daughter to a daycare facility but reportedly forgot.

It’s alleged that he instead rushed to work at the Black River Police Station, leaving the child in his car for several hours.

The child died at hospital.
