by December 7th, 2018

Regional  governing  body  for  football  Concacaf  has  handed  a  timely  boost  to  Guyana’s  hopes  of  a  first  appearance  at  the  2019 Concacaf  Gold  Cup.

This  by  sanctioning  Barbados   for  fielding  in-eligible  players when both teams  met  in  the  Nations  League.

The  teams  played  to  a  2-all  draw   in  November after which Guyana  lodged  a  formal  protest  against the Barbadians over the eligibility of English-born duo Krystian Pearce and  Hallam Hope who scored both  goals  for  Barbados  in the  game.

The Concacaf Disciplinary Committee has ruled that in accordance with articles 55 and 31 of the FIFA disciplinary code, the Barbados football association is considered to have lost the match against Guyana by a 3-nil margin………

The players did not have the proper clearance from FIFA and the English F.A to represent Barbados.

The result of the match played against El-Salvador on October 13, 2018 is upheld in accordance with article 31 of the FIFA disciplinary code, with a score of 3-nil  in favour of El Salvador.
