by November 3rd, 2018

A young boy was chopped to death in Windsor Heights, St. Catherine this afternoon (Nov 3).

His identity has not yet been released.

Police say the boy’s mother and older brother were also wounded in the incident.

Initial reports are that the boy’s mother was involved in a confrontation with a man, in an area known as sufferer’s heights, when the man used a machete to chop her, and her two sons, before fleeing.

Police investigators are processing the crime scene.

Meantime, President of the National Parent-Teacher Association of Jamaica Lennon Richards is calling on Jamaicans to not remain quiet about crimes being perpetrated against the nation’s children.

Mr. Richards says the anti-informer culture is hurting Jamaica’s children and needs to be done away with.

He is encouraging those who witness or have information that could help to solve crimes against children, to tell the authorities what they know.
