Jamaican opener Brandon King the top-scorer in the recent Hero CPL tournament has been rewarded with a place in the west indies squad for the upcoming one day International and T/20 International series against Afghanistan in India next month.
The powerful hitting Guyana Amazon Warriors opener who amassed 496 runs in 12 innings at a strike rate of 150 has been named in both the one Day International and T/20 squads for the series in Dehradun.
Hayden Walsh Junior following his breakout CPL 2019 effort has also been included for the three T20 internationals and the three one day internationals which will see Kieron Pollard who last played a one day international back in 2016 taking over as captain of both limited overs teams.
Sunil Narine has been left out along with Chris Gayle while former T20 International captain Carlos Brathwaite and the Jamaica trio of Oshane Thomas, Andre Russell, and Rovman Powell failed to make the cut.
Sheldon Cotterel makes both squads while Lendl Simmons following his over 400 runs in the CPL returns for the t20 squad which is showing some 8 changes.
