The budget for this fiscal year has been increased by 24 billion dollars.

Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke tabled the third supplementary estimates in Parliament, today (January 31).

He explained that the increase is to facilitate, among other things, payments under the public sector restructuring programme.

Dr. Clarke said the new amount represents what the government can afford.
