Dancehall entertainers Buju Banton and Vybz Kartel have both entered the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, but neither of the two copped the top position.

Buju Banton’s first album in over a decade, ‘Upside Down 2020’ has debuted at number two, while Vybz Kartel’s ‘Of Dons & Divas’ debuted at number six. Both albums were released on Friday, June 26.

Sitting at the top of the chart for the past 26 weeks and counting, is reggae legend Bob Marley’s 1984 album, ‘Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and The Wailer’s.’ While Shaggy’s ‘Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection’ is in the number three position, and Sean Paul’s ‘Dutty Classics Collection’ at four, rounds out the Top 4.

Data for the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, are compiled by Nielsen Music/MRC, to include a universe of retailers that represent more than 90% of the U.S market for sales, inclusive of digital streams and downloads. Charts are refreshed every Tuesday, and generally reflect data collected between Friday and Thursday, of any given week.

Buju Banton last peaked at number one on the Reggae Albums Chart in 1997 for ‘Inna Heights’ as his Grammy-winning album ‘Before The Dawn’ in 2010, only peaked at number two.

Vybz Kartel is yet to have a number one album on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, with his highest-charting album and only other album to make the Top 5, coming in at number two in 2016, being ‘King of the Dancehall.’ Kartel’s ‘To Tanesha’ album released earlier this year, failed to chart on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart.
