Messages of congratulations continue to flood social media platforms after Reggae Band Toots and the Maytals copped the 2021 Grammy for Best Reggae Album.

Got To Be Tough was released just days before the death of the band’s frontman, Frederick “Toots” Hibbert who died in September last year.

Toots and The Maytals won the award over Buju Banton, Skip Marley, Maxi Priest, and the Wailers.

Buju Banton, Maxi Priest, Skip Marley and Minister of Culture, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange are among the many Reggae lovers, industry players, and fans congratulating Toots and the Maytals on their Grammy win.

This marks the second Grammy win for Toots and the Maytals after they won Best Reggae Album for ‘True Love’ in 2004.

Meanwhile, Stephen Di Genius and Koffee secured Grammy certificates after John Legend’s ‘Bigger Love’ won the Award for Best R&B Album. Di Genius produced two songs on the album. The title track, ‘Bigger Love’ and ‘Don’t Walk Away’ which features Koffee.

The Grammys also paid tribute to the late Reggae icon, and original Wailer, Bunny Wailer, for his contribution to the music industry.

It was also a big night for Nigerians after Burna Boy won the Best Global Music Album category for his album, ‘Twice As Tall.’

It was also a historic night for Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

Beyoncé has set a new record at the Grammy Awards with her 28th win, making her the most-awarded woman in Grammy’s history.

Taylor Swift also made history by becoming the first female artist ever to win the album of the year three times.

The 63rd annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held on Sunday in Los Angeles.
