Opposition Spokesman on National Security, Peter Bunting says the way in which the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF handled a situation involving a man who made certain comments about Prime Minister Andrew Holness, is concerning.

The man was taken into custody, after the video depicting him making statements about Mr. Holness over the change in curfew hours, went viral.

He was taken into custody by the Moneague Police on Tuesday (July 27), and made another video apologising to the Prime Minister. The video went viral on social media.

The police reported that the man was being sought for questioning in relation to an offence and the video led them to his whereabouts.

The man has now been released and is reportedly taking legal action against the police and the government.

Speaking during the Consensus Monitoring & Oversight Committee, CMOC, 9-month update press briefing, this morning (July 29), Mr. Bunting said while the Jamaica Constabulary is doing well in some areas, the recent incident is one that is disappointing.

He said the colonial era laws must be reviewed.
