Cabinet was briefed on the current security situation in Jamaica by the heads of the Constabulary and the Defense Forces today (January 24).

Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson confirmed that he attended the meeting, alongside newly installed Chief of Defence Staff, Rear Admiral Antonette Wemyss Gorman.

He said the meeting focused on addressing the issue of murders across the country.

He added that he had a meeting on Saturday (January 22), with the Chief of Defence Staff, regarding how to tackle flare ups.
