Head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch Calvin Allen is among twenty-four members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force who have been promoted.

Four persons, including Allen, were elevated to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The other 3 are: head of the constabulary’s investigative machinery McArthur Sutherland; head of the Inspectorate of the Constabulary Clinton Laing; and commander of the Area five Headquarters Gary Griffiths.

Two cops were promoted to senior superintendent. They are: head of the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), Ms. Charmaine Shand, and Glenford Miller of the St. Andrew north division.

Nine persons were promoted to the rank of superintendent.  Their names were not revealed.

Crime officer for the Clarendon division Jermaine Anglin, was the only inspector promoted to the rank of deputy superintendent.

Meantime, eight sergeants were promoted to the rank of inspector.
