Campion & Immaculate retain titles at Mayberry Investment High School Swimming Championship

Campion College and Immaculate have both retained their respective titles at the Mayberry Investments Limited High School Swimming Championships at the National Aquatic Centre.

Campion took the boys’ title after amassing 580 points to finish ahead of Wolmer’s who were second on 483.

Kingston College (256), Jamaica College (162) and American International High (38) round out the top 5.

Immaculate meanwhile piled up 645 points to take top spot among the girls’.

Campion (404) and St. Andrew High (310) finished second and third respectively with Wolmer’s Girls third on 108 and Mobay High 5th on 62.

A total of sixteen (16) records were broken on the day with fourteen (14) being individual records and two (2) being relay records.

Pride of place goes to Zaneta Alvaranga of Immaculate and Nathaniel Thomas of Campion with both swimmers breaking three individual records.

Alvaranga in addition to records in the 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke and 50m Butterfly, won the High Point Trophy for scoring the most points in her age group and joined forces with Imani Salmon, Brook Hopkins and Safiya Officer to place her name another time in the record books.

Thomas records came in the 50m Freestyle, 200m Individual Medley and the 50m Butterfly. The 14 year old also won the High Point Trophy for the 13-14 Boys age group.

The two (2) relay records belong to Immaculate in the 13-14 and 15-16 Girls Medley Relays

Kokolo Foster of Immaculate with two

Britney Williams of Wolmers Girls with two

Brianna Anderson of Immaculate with one

Kyle Sinclair of Wolmers Boys with one

Sabrina Lyn of Campion with one

Chester Adams of Jamaica College with one

The event is the final long course meet ahead of the CARIFTA Swimming Championships to be held in Barbados from April 20-23.
