Attempts to have Capleton’s travel documents seized were denied by the judge in the St. Andrew Parish Court on Monday, May 14..

The dancehall deejay who spent the weekend behind bars was today granted bail in the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

Dressed in full blue, Capleton entered the courthouse cuffed onto two other prisoners.

The judge warned that the deejay should refrain from communicating with the complainant. Meanwhile, attempts by the courthouse clerk to have Capleton’s travel documents seized were denied by the judge.

Entertainers Queen Ifrika, Tony Rebel, and Anthony Cruz showed support for the “Fire Man” by standing outside the courthouse in solidarity.

Reports from the CCU are that, on Friday, detectives assigned to the Center for Investigation of Sexual Offense and Child Abuse (CISOCA) arrested and charged Capleton for rape.

Police details are that on Saturday, April 28, at about 11:20 am, Capleton allegedly hired a female hairdresser to groom his hair at a hotel in New Kingston. The report further states that while at the hotel the dancehall deejay allegedly forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.

The matter was reported to the police and an investigation launched. Capleton was subsequently charged after a question and answer interview was conducted in the presence of his attorney.

The dancehall deejay maintains his innocence and has since filed a complaint with the police accusing the hairdresser of attempting to extort him.

The Fire Man Capleton is expected to return to court on June 14, when the matter is set for mention.
