The Caribbean Union of Teachers (CUT) has expressed satisfaction with the decision of the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) to push back the start date for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) and Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (C-SEC) examinations.

The new start date for the regional examinations is May 23.

President of the CUT, Garth Anderson says he is grateful that students and teachers will have more time to prepare.

However, he is urging CXC to develop a resilience plan of action to effectively address situations similar to those brought on by COVID-19.
