Cavalier star Alex Marshall to head off for MLS Caribbean Combine

Cavalier midfielder Alex Marshall is getting ready to head off next week for the 2018 MLS Caribbean Combine in Florida.

Marshall is among three Jamaicans recommended by national coach Theodore Whitmore to be among 22 Caribbean players who will compete in front of scouts for three days for the potential to be signed directly by a MLS team during the upcoming transfer window.

Oneil Anderson of Red Stripe Premier League champions Arnett Gardens and Maalique Foster of RSPL leaders Portmore United are the other Jamaican players for the January 9-11 event which takes place at the Sawgrass Hotel and Suites complex just outside Fort Lauderdale.

The Caribbean Combine will lead into the 2018 Adidas MLS Player Combine which will be held from January 11-17 in Orlando.

Former national under 17 World Cup player Jason Wright along with former national under 20 representative Andre Morrison are the Jamaicans among the 60 NCAA Division One players invited to participate.

Representatives from all 23 MLS clubs will be on hand scouting the top college prospects ahead of the January 19 MLS Superdraft in Philadelphia.
