CCC Team to face Oxford University in World University T/20 Competition

Reigning regional super 50 champions the Combined Colleges and Campuses team will meet Oxford University from the UK in the opening game of the first ever World University Twenty/20 tournament at the Sir Frank Worrel ground at the St Augustine campus in Trinidad tomorrow.

The CCC team and the University of the West Indies will be the two teams from the Caribbean participating in the tournament.

Teams from the us and the UK complete the five participants,

CWI’s board of directors approved the World University T/20 at its last meeting on December 8 and 9 in Trinidad, as part of the long-term strategic plan to increase the quality and quantity of cricket accessible and supported for the next generation of players.

CPL has also given their approval of the tournament as part of the T/20 sanctioning and staging agreement with the regional governing body.

After the tournament, five of the most outstanding players will be given an opportunity to train and play alongside teams in the CPL.
