Dancehall deejay Cecile says was inspired by her young daughter and friend to write a children’s book.

Titled Oceana, the story tells the tale of a Jamaican mermaid who hails from the parish of St. Thomas and loves reggae music.

Cecile says it all started when she assisted her friend with a party. In a Music News interview, Cecile explains that it is important to create things that our children can identify with.

Oceana by Cecile was written in 2018 and will be printed by Barnes & Noble, the world’s largest bookseller and a leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products.

T-shirts, swim caps, and swimsuits designed by her six-year-old she shares with singer Chris Martin are in the pipeline.
