Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness is among the slew of tributes pouring in for singer Dalton Harris following his win of UK talent competition X Factor on Sunday.

On Twitter, the Prime Minister wrote, “Congratulations to our Dalton Harris winner of the X Factor. The entire Jamaica is proud of you. Your phenomenal talent is now unleashed on the world.”

Meanwhile, Minster of Entertainment and Sports Olivia Grange on Instagram says “Dalton Harris is set to become a global megastar.”

Other tributes that flooded social media came from singers Romain Virgo, Tessanne Chin, and Ikaya, producer Skatta Burrell, and dancehall deejay Tifa.

Dalton Harris has since thanked the Jamaican contingent around the world following his victory on Sunday.

Despite criticisms about his personal life, Dalton’s immense talent has propelled him to cop the coveted X-Factor title making him the 15th winner of the UK talent competition.

The 24-year-old is now looking forward to the X-Factor Arena tour which will take him across the United Kingdom in February and March of next year.

Dalton Harris who is being managed by Penthouse Records CEO Donovan Germain has won a £1 million (approximately J$162,632,400) recording contract with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music in association with Sony Music.
