by April 12th, 2019

Teachers at Central High School in Clarendon have welcomed the resignation of Board Chairman Henry Morant.

Mr. Morant resigned yesterday (Apl 11) following weeks of protest by disgruntled teachers at the school, who questioned his leadership.

Speaking with Irie FM News Jamaica Teachers Association representative at the school, Margarette Manning says the teachers are thankful for the victory.

She says the school is awaiting the appointment of a new chairman, by the Education Ministry.

Meantime, Mrs. Manning is assuring that students are up to par with their schoolwork.

She says the teaching and learning process at the school was not compromised during the protests and that students, especially those set to sit CXC exams are adequately prepared.
