by September 22nd, 2017

West Indies and Jamaican batting star Chris Gayle could miss the rest of the team’s one day international (ODI) series against England after suffering a hamstring injury.

Gayle , was ruled out of the second match at Trent bridge yesterday which ended in a no result, with scans expected to confirm the severity of the injury suffered during the first ODI at old Trafford.

The batsman, who scored 37 during the first fixture, did come out to warm up ahead of the second match but reported to team captain Jason Holder that he had aggravated the injury just ahead of the toss.

The batsman only recently returned to playing the format following an almost two-year absence, after regulations put in place by the then West Indies cricket board (WICB) ruled many of the team’s senior players out of contention for selection.
