The Jozi Stars despite getting only 6 runs from the hard-hitting Chris Gayle….beat the Cape Town Blitz by 50 runs to move to second on the table in the Mzansi T/20 Super League in South Africa.

The stars batting first piled up 196 for 4 from their 20 overs led by the in-form Reeza Hendricks who slammed 79 form 46 balls to record his fourth successive score of fifty or more.

Cape Town in reply was bowled out for 146 in 19.4 overs with Daniel Christian bagging 4 for 22 from his 4 overs.

The stars following yesterday’s result moved to 20 points from 7 games……they are now 5 points behind the blitz who have played an extra game.

Gayle returns to action on Friday when the stars play away to the Durban Heat.
