Chronixx and Kool Ravers Win Prime Minister’s Youth Award

Grammy nominated reggae singer Chronixx and dancehall dancer Chevoy ‘Kool Ravers’ Grant on Wednesday night received the Prime Minister’s Youth Award for Excellence in the field of Arts and Culture.  

Dancehall was front and center at the awards ceremony which saw the Prime Minister on stage with DingDong and members of the Ravers Clavers teaching the Prime Minister a couple dance moves inclusive of the infectious ‘Fling’ dance created by awardee Kool Ravers.

The nomination based awards, received over 200 applications with both Chronixx and Kool Ravers receiving awards after being shortlisted among 11 other nominees in Arts and Culture.

Since its inception the Prime Ministers Youth Awards for Excellence has been conferred to 165 awardees who have excelled and contributed to national development.
