Chronixx Nominated For Prime Minister’s Youth Award

2017 continues to be an exceptional year for Grammy nominated reggae artiste Chronixx.

Fresh off receiving his first Grammy nod for his debut album ‘Chronology’ Chronixx has been shortlisted as a nominee for the Prime Minister’s Youth Award for Excellence in the category of Arts and Culture.

On Sunday, State Minister in the Education, Youth and Information Ministry Floyd Green, announced the nominees via his official social media pages.

The nomination based awards, received over 200 applications with Chronixx being shortlisted among 11 other nominees in Arts and Culture.

Since its inception the Prime Ministers Youth Awards for Excellence has been conferred to 165 awardees who have excelled and contributed to national development.

This excellent news follows a successful showing of the Jamaican leg of his Chronology Tour dubbed Chronixx Live in Jamaica, held over the weekend in Kingston and Montego Bay.

Jamaicans from all walks of life turned out in their numbers to witness Chronixx perform songs old and new. In both performances that spanned over 2 hours, Chronixx had a sold out Mass Camp and Pier One, rocking and skanking to the sweet versatile sounds of reggae.

Chronixx Live in Jamaica also featured a scintillating performance by Protoje, with appearances by Agent Sasco, Sevana, Lila Ike and Mortimer.

While high points of Chronixx’s performances featured appearances by his dad Chronicle, Iba Mahr, and a special dancing segment featuring the Ravers Clavers doing the popular dance Fling to Chronixx’s hit single ‘Likes.’

The Chronology Tour in Jamaica marked Chronixx’s first major appearance on home soil in over a year.
