Justice Minister Delroy Chuck has indicated that stronger legislation is needed to compel fathers to be more responsible men, with regard to the care and protection of their children.

Speaking in parliament today, Chuck lamented that the family court is overburdened with cases relating to domestic violence, abuse, and maintenance orders for irresponsible fathers.

To tackle the high number of cases, government will be establishing more family courts.

Mr. Chuck said there is need for legislation to compel fathers to take care of their children.
