A 56 year old pastor has pleaded guilty to impregnating a 12 year old girl three years ago.

Kenneth Blake today pleaded guilty in the Home Circuit Court to charges of grievous sexual assault, sexual touching and having sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16.

He will be sentenced on October 18.

The girl who is now 15 years old gave birth to a baby boy in November 2017.

Blake who is the pastor of the Harvest Temple Apostolic Church on Slipe Road, Kingston was arrested and charged in August 2017.

On several occasions Blake denied the charges and contended that the complaint was part of an alleged extortion attempt by the girl’s mother.

Blake had consented to a DNA test in 2017 and the test results confirmed that Blake fathered the child.

He disputed the DNA results and contended that the test conducted at the government forensic laboratory was tainted.

In April this year, a judge granted an order for him to do another DNA test at a private facility at his own expense, and that test proved that Blake was the father of the child.

The incident took place at Blake’s St. Andrew home when the girl and her older sister visited him.

Blake sent the older sister shopping and committed the offence when the girl was alone with him at the house.
