Clarendon police targeting organised gangs in May Pen

by July 1st, 2018

The Clarendon police say they will be targeting organized criminal gangs in the parish, in a bid to restore law and order.

The effort follows a recent flare up of violence in the parish capital, including shootings near the market.

Head of the division Superintendent Vendolyn Cameron Powell says the Bucks Common gang is one such group that will be targeted.

This gang is among 12 operating in May Pen.

Superintendent Cameron Powell says the criminal activities in the parish capital are linked to gang activities.

Six persons – 4 men and 2 women – were shot and wounded at the May Pen market.

Reports are that a man walked up to a vendor and pointed a gun at her and opened fire, hitting the woman and 5 others.
