Popular footwear brand Clarks is paying homage to its Jamaican supporters by releasing a limited-edition Jamaican collection of the boot.

Clarks has redesigned the Wallabee, Bank Robber and Desert boots to represent the Jamaican culture. The new shoes, dubbed the Jamaica Bee, Jamaican Trek and Desert Jamaica include the national colours. The footwear has embellished representations of the flag and includes traditional fabrics along with the Clarks signature logo.

Via its official social media platforms; the Footwear brand wrote since they first hit the streets of Kingston, their profiles have occupied a special place in Jamaican culture. To celebrate this truly original collection, they’ve reworked three of their most iconic styles to pay tribute to the individuality the island is so famous for. #clarkesoriginal.

The brand continues by saying its proud to have been part of island life for almost 60 years. Jamaica has given them so much love over the years and as a way of saying thank you, they’re working with communities across the island and making charitable donations to programmes that really make a difference.

The brand also announced that they are working with Grammy Awardee Koffee and her non-profit organisation, Families Rule- a charity that focuses on youth empowerment through training, mentorship and scholarship.

Clarks has over the years collaborated with several prominent Jamaicans, most recently England and Manchester United Footballer Raheem Sterling.

Through the partnership, Raheem donated a pair of the popular shoe to students at his alma mater, Maverley Primary and Junior High School in St Andrew. Sterling also debuted his limited-edition desert Clarkes boot.

The brand also endorsed dancehall artiste Jahvillani, Singers Lila Ike and Chronixx. In 2010, the popularity of the shoes line was further boosted by Vybz Kartel’s tribute to the brand with his hit single, ‘Clarks’.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness also endorsed the boot and wore a green pair during his election campaigns.
