Councillor for the Granville Division in the St. James Municipal Corporation Michael Troupe has been suspended from the local authority for the next three months.

The motion was passed against the councillor at today’s (Feb 8) monthly meeting for bringing the corporation into disrepute.

Twelve councillors reportedly voted in favour, three minority councillors abstained and one voted against the resolution.

Speaking with Irie FM News Chairman of the Corporation and Mayor of Montego Bay Homer Davis confirmed that Councillor Troupe would not be allowed in their meetings for some time.

Mayor Davis says resolution against Councillor Troupe relates to payments he authorised.
