Comrades state protest over delayed selection process

Over hundred people’s national party supporters from northeast St. Elizabeth this morning demonstrated in Santa Cruz in the parish over the postponement of a selection process.

The comrades clad in orange t-shirts with placards and a banner reading balaclava division marched through the town of Santa Cruz chanting we want the selection.

The selection of a candidate to contest the northeast St Elizabeth seat was to have been held today, however the process has been put off by a week to September 12

Evon Redman is challenging sitting MP Raymond Pryce for the right to be the party’s standard bearer.

Accompanied by a strong detachment of uniformed police personnel, supporters of Mr Redman marched from the market at the western side of the town to the Mandeville Bus Park to the eastern end of the town.

They also shouted “we want Redman” and “no Pryce”.
