Confirmed Covid cases climb to 125

The country has recorded twenty additional cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to one hundred and twenty-five.

 

Minister of Health, Dr. Christopher Tufton says the 20 new cases include 5 males and 15 females, with ages ranging from 2 to 43 years.

 

He notes that 52 employees of Alorica have so far tested positive for covid-19.

 

The health minister says the St. Catherine health department has tested more than 300 of the nearly 800 staff members of Alorica.

 

In the meantime, 21 persons have recovered and released from hospital, while the country has recorded 5 deaths.

 

The fifth death is a 63 year old female from Portland, who died yesterday.

 

Currently 66 patients remain in isolation and 21 persons are in quarantine at a government facility.
