Cop before court on murder charge seeks bail in order to attend his dad’s funeral

by April 3rd, 2017

A bail application is to be made on Wednesday for police constable Collis ‘Chucky’ Brown, who is charged with murder.

The case dubbed death squad was set for trial today (Apl 3) in the Home Circuit Court but it was put off until September 18.

Brown’s attorney-at-law Norman Godfrey, said he will make a bail application for his client for several reasons.

Godfrey said Brown’s father, the late Senior Superintendent of Police Herman Brown is to be buried on Saturday and his client would like to attend the funeral.

Brown was freed last month of a murder charge.
He has been in custody since 2014 when he was arrested by investigators assigned to the Independent Commission of Investigations (Indecom), and charged with three counts of murder arising from separate incidents in Clarendon.
