The Police High Command has condemned the murder of a policeman in a barbershop in Petersfield, Westmoreland yesterday (Aug 19).

He has been identified as Constable Rohan Bucknor, who was attached to the Little London police station.

The high command says it remains concerned that attacks against members of the force are committed by criminals, when officers are off duty in vulnerable situations.

The high command has pledged to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident in order bring those responsible to justice.

In the meantime, members of the JCF have been reminded that the threat level against police officers remains high.

The high command is urging officers to remain vigilant, take swift and decisive action to protect themselves and their families.
