A policeman was shot dead in Caymanas , Gregory Park ST Catherine this morning.

Police have not released his name identifying him only as a police sergeant.

IRIE FM  News learnt that the  incident occurred  near a gas station in Gregory Park sometime after 2 am

Police say  people in the area reported hearing explosions and the police were called .

The sergeant  was found slumped over the steering wheel of his private motor vehicle with several gunshot wounds.
