Cotterell called up as Windies make changes for T20I series

The West Indies selectors have been forced to make changes to the T20 squad for the three match series in New Zealand as a result of injuries and unavailability.

Jamaican left-arm fast bowler Sheldon Cotterell will replace pacer Ronsford Beaton, who has been forced to return home with a side strain.

Left-handed batsman Shimron Hetmyer will replace all-rounder Kieron Pollard, who is unavailable due to personal reasons.

The first match in the series is on Thursday night (Jamaica time) at the Saxton Oval in Nelson.

The full Windies squad: Carlos Braithwaite (captain), Samuel Badree, Sheldon Cotterell, Rayad Emrit, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Jason Mohammed, Ashley Nurse, Rovman Powell, Jerome Taylor, Chadwick Walton and Kesrick Williams.

The second game in the series is on Sunday at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui which will also serves as the venue for the 3rd and final match next Tuesday.

The embattled Windies team will be seeking to turn around their fortunes in the T20I series having been swept in the Test and One Day Internationals.
