by March 10th, 2022

Councillor for the Spring Mount Division in St. James Uvel Graham is calling for more social intervention measures to deter citizens from a life of crime.

This following the murder of three siblings in Irwin Heights in the parish last evening (March 9).

Dead are 11-year-old Peta-Gaye Cooke and her twin brothers, 19-year-old Givaughnie Stewart otherwise called ‘Bigga’, and Givaughn Stewart otherwise called ‘Little Man’.

Speaking with Irie FM News this afternoon (March 10), Mr. Graham said when he visited the family’s home, it was like a ghost town.

He said it appears the family has fled out of fear.

He noted that residents are also tight lipped and the community is tense.

Mr. Graham said the Irwin Height community has been plagued by crime for some time and action must be taken now to remedy this.
