An injunction has been granted by the court, barring the removal of residents from their homes, in providence and pleasant hill, in Lluidasvale, St Catherine, pending the outcome of a court hearing.

The update was given by opposition leader Mark Golding on Tuesday, while he made his contribution to the budget debate.

It comes in the wake of an eviction order from the national land agency, issued to the residents last year.

Mr Golding added, that compensation is being sought, via the courts, for some recently dislocated residents of Clifton, in Bernard Lodge, St Catherine.
