As the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to dim the lights of entertainment events globally, more event promoters are forced to pull the plug.

Organizers of Reggae Sunsplash have moved to postpone the return of the music festival.

According to the organizers, the decision for a postponement is the best course of action, following consultations with government officials and leaders in the entertainment industry.

They also cited concerns for crowd size and large gatherings as reasons for the postponement.

After a 14-year hiatus, Reggae Sunsplash was expected to return under new management, on the weekend of November 6-8 at the Grizzly’s Plantation Cove, in Priory St. Ann.

Reggae Sunsplash organizers have not decided on a new date, but have assured music fans, they will continue to monitor the global state of the industry over the next six to eight months, before finalizing a new date.

Meanwhile, Jamaica is set to open its borders to international travel on June 15, and some countries have resume sporting activities.
