CPFSA launches school tour to promote 211 hotline

The Child Protection and Family Services CPFSA on Tuesday launched its school tour which promotes the 211 hotline for reporting child abuse.

The tour began at the Bamboo Primary and Junior High school in St Ann and is dubbed “Mr. Protector goes to school”.

The CPFSA mascot, “Mr Protector”, was designed by Richard Small, a student of the school.

The school tour will see a team of CPFSA children’s officers visiting various schools over the next few days, doing presentations on child abuse and child safety.

These sessions are designed to help children identify different types of abuse and empower them to self–report.

CPFSA director of children and family programmes Warren Thompson encouraged children to call the 211 hotline .

Meanwhile , Vice Principal of Bamboo Primary and Junior High School, Trevor Mckenzie expressed satisfaction with the visit by CPFSA representatives.
