Fourteen overseas based players – including Darren Mattocks the top striker from 2015 – are on Jamaica’s 23 man roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Mattocks was on target in back to back matches in the semi-finals against the USA and against Mexico in the 2015 final. There was no place for Giles Barnes and Gareth McLeary who also had two goals each in 2015.

The other overseas based players on the roster are Sergio Campbell, Oniel Fisher, Kemar Lawrence, Damion Lowe, Alvas Powell, Jermaine Taylor, Kevon Lambert, Je-Vaughn Watson, Cory Burke, Devor Orgill, Romario Williams and goalkeepers Andre Blake and Dwayne Miller.

The local players are goalkeeper Damion Hyatt, Rosario Harriott, Ladale Richie, Michael Binns, Ewan Grandison, Ricardo Morris, Owayne Gordon, Jermaine Johnson and Shamar Nicholson.

The Reggae Boys are scheduled to depart next Friday for San Diego where they will face Curacao in their opening match on July 9 at the Qualcomm Stadium.

The JFF is currently putting on the final touches for a one week training camp ahead of the tournament.
