Dean of Discipline calls for more boot camps

by February 21st, 2020

President of the National Association of Deans of Discipline, Samuel Smalling, has called for the establishment of more boot camps, to help with behaviour modification for children deemed to be disruptive and violence prone.

This, in the wake of recent incidents at some schools, involving students, teachers, and parents.

In some cases, the persons involved in the alteration were seriously injured and had to seek medical attention.

Among the injured is the dean of disciple for the Oracabessa High School, in St. Mary.

Mr. Smalling notes that for the most part, deans of discipline have been effective in stemming the level of violence at schools, across the island.

He however lamented that more needs to be done.
