Approximately 56 days after former Jamaican tennis player Nicholas Malcolm was reported missing at sea and feared dead the matter remains inconclusive.
This as crucial DNA evidence is yet to be ascertained.
Whilst the matter remains under investigation the family cannot bring closure to the passing of their loved one.
In an effort to obtain an update on the matter Irie Fm sports spoke with hotelier Piere Batagalia who put the delay squarely on the DNA result.
Malcolm’s family had expressed concern about his wellbeing after blood stained fragments of his gear were found at sea near a fishing village between Oracabessa and Galina in St Mary.
The Ocho Rios based Malcolm was considered one of the nation’s most talented players. He represented Jamaica in the Davis Cup in 1993 and last played in 1999.
