Defending Champions Kingston Humming birds to ‘fly out’ against St Ann Orchids in Berger Elite League

Defending champions Kingston humming birds will begin their title defense of the 2018/2019 Berger Elite Netball League against St Ann Orchids this evening at Leila Robinson Courts, starting at 7:15 pm.

The game will be preceded by an opening ceremony with the six participating teams, scheduled for 6:30 pm.

Along with the Humming Birds, the other participating teams are : St Ann orchids, Clarendon Gators, Manchester Spurs, st Catherine Racers, and St James Sharpes.

Players were selected from various clubs, placed into a pool, then drawn to represent the various teams and only a few teams will have some national representatives in the squad of players.

The humming birds under the guidance of national coach Marvette Anderson features national players : Shanice Beckford, Paula Thompson, along with Sabrina Spence, Crystal Crawford, Abbigail Linton, Hasana Williams, and Susan Douglas.

St Ann orchids have three national representatives in their team— in top shooter Thristina Harwood, Centre Adean Thomas, and defender Vangelee Williams.

Manchester spurs coached by Connie Francis features national players Anna-Kay Griffiths, Nicole Dixon and Khadijah Williams.

Sunshine girls Mischa Creary, and Latanya Wilson are down to play for the Clarendon Gaters, while kestina Sturridge who played in the INF/Netball World Youth Cup in Botswana last year will run out for the St James Sharpes.

Senior sunshine girl Zonasha Hinds will be representing st Catherine Spurs.
