by March 4th, 2018

Deontay Wilder has beaten Cuba’s Luis Ortiz with a 10th-round knockout to retain the WBC heavyweight title.

America’s 32-year-old Wilder was meeting his toughest opponent in Ortiz who is 38 year old, but improved to 40-0 after his seventh title defense in New York.

Wilder began slowly and fell behind on the scorecards before dropping his opponent in the fifth round.

He continued to struggle however and was almost stopped himself in the seventh session but Ortiz was unable to put his younger opponent away.

Wilder eventually made him pay when the fight entered its final quarter, dropping Ortiz once and then forcing the referee to step in following another barrage of punches.
