Two people are dead after a bauxite train derailed in Retreat, St Ann on Sunday night.

The names of the deceased – the operator of the train and a security guard, have not yet been released.

Police say the incident took place around 10 pm.

It’s reported that firefighters had to be called to the scene.

The injured were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
